On-site integrated therapist now available at CHI Health Schuyler - Columbus Telegram

For the first time, CHI Health Schuyler has an integrated behavioral specialist onsite to serve patients with their mental health needs.
Megan Cada is a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner with a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wayne State College. As a graduate intern, she worked as a pediatric counselor in Columbus. Originally from Howells, Cada and her family live on a farm in Schuyler.
"I love the small-town life, and growing up in the farming community, I can see firsthand how the hesitancy and stigma around mental health has improved, but it's definitely still there," Cada said. "For me, a big part of this is educating people about it to help people realize that therapy is whatever you need it be, and it's for everyone."
Cada is in person at the clinic five days a week, and can also do virtual visits for young children to elderly adults and everyone in between. Primarily offering talk therapy, she also incorporates cognitive behavioral elements and play therapy. She can help with acceptance and commitment issues, along with trauma.

What makes the integrated approach unique is that she is onsite to be able to address immediate needs from patients within the clinic.
"This model allows us more collaborative treatment options for patients with medical and behavioral needs and enables us to address them right here in their medical home," said Connie Peters, CHI Health Schuyler President. "We want people to know that coming in to seek help for behavioral health needs is no different than coming in to get your blood pressure taken."
Cada is currently accepting appointments from established patients via a referral through the clinic. Call CHI Health Schuyler Clinic at 402-352- 3745 for more information.
