Social welfare Ireland: Two conditions to qualify for once-off payment worth up to €1,450 - MSN

The Additional Needs Payment was introduced to help those on low income to pay for an expense they cannot pay from their weekly income.

There are a number of conditions required to qualify for this payment, which will be assessed by a Community Welfare Officer (CWO). The officer will asses an applicants circumstances to decide if they qualify for the payment, reports RSVP Live.

In some cases, the payment may even be granted even if the applicant exceeds the weekly income limit. Here's all you need to know about the payment.

How to qualify for the Additional Needs Payment

To qualify for an Additional Needs Payment, you must:.

  • Live in Ireland and.
  • Have an income below the weekly household income limit

How do you apply for the Additional Needs Payment?

Those wishing to apply can make an appointment with your local CWO. Alternatively, postal applications can be made although the CWO may still make an appointment to see the applicant.

Application form are available at local Community Welfare Service offices or can be downloaded here. You can also have the Community Welfare Office post it to you by emailing cwsforms@welfare. ie.

What do you need to provide when applying for the Additional Needs Payment?

You will need some of the following to apply:.

  • You'll need your PPS number and those of any dependents, such as your partner or children.
  • You'll also need to provide proof of your identity, like a Public Services Card, Driving Licence or Passport.
  • Proof of address is required too, so have a household bill handy.
  • If you're not from Ireland, you'll need to show proof of residency, like an Irish Residence Permit (IRP) or EU/EEA passport or national ID card.
  • To assess your financial situation, you'll need to provide proof of income, like payslips and bank statements.
